There are many types of colored pencils out there. Prismacolor has several different grades, from the basic, to Scholar, to Verithin. Personally, I feel that this type of pencil is too soft, and often breaks off in the sharpener. However, the color range is very nice.
Faber-Castell is a German company, started in the 1700’s. They started making colored pencils in 1908. Their pencils are a bit harder, but blend nicely, and sharpen easily.
And then we have assorted pencils. The Crayola and OfficeMatters are very nice, and the Marco Raffines are great.
